During the intake process, students with special needs are assessed to determine their specific strengths and needs. Placement, resources, and programming goals are established on the basis of each student’s unique needs. Accommodations and modifications are integrated into programming using student testing, IEP’s, input from parents and teachers, and the professional guidance of the New Horizons teaching team.

Individual programming may include modification of the curriculum, supplementary aides or equipment, and assistive technology (e.g. Dragon Naturally Speaking, Kurzweil and Inspiration) that allow students to participate in the educational environment to the fullest extent possible.
